Morgandy Caye

Since my childhood, I’ve been inspired by the creative process.  I love designing new creations, whether it’s writing a poem or developing a new recipe in my kitchen.  As I’ve grown, this passion has taken a stronghold in my life through two hobbies – writing and photography.  While working fulltime as a teacher and raising two boys, those hobbies were just that – part-time hobbies.  But now that my sons are grown and starting families of their own, I have the opportunity to do what I used to merely dream about – take my passions to the next level and share them with the world.

In 2012, I took a story that had long resided in my head and put it on paper.  My first novel, A Weakness For Chocolate, was released in September of that year.  It is inspired by the settings and characters of my youth and captures not only a love story, but a story of personal growth and discovery.  Today, I’ve taken the positive feedback and inspiration from the release of A Weakness For Chocolate, and begun my second novel.  While it is still a work in progress, I am excited to reveal that it will follow another strong female character, Jillian Mayette, as she finds love and fulfillment in the Florida Keys.

While writing and teaching keeps me very busy, I’ve also been blessed with an amazing husband who has taken me on the leap into professional photography.   We showcase and sell our work at art shows throughout the Florida Keys where we reside.  Our photographs capture the settings and wildlife in the area where we live and in the places we love to travel.  Sharing these beautiful places through our photos has brought true fulfillment to us both.

For these new journeys, I am very grateful. I am thankful for a husband and family who support me in my dreams.  I’m also thankful for the readers and fans who have allowed both my writing and photography into their hearts. I appreciate that gift, and hope to repay it as I grow and add new creations in the years to come.
